There is a time and place for everything. At least that’s what I’ve been told. But, for me, it is always time for change.

Often misunderstood, that isn’t to say that I’m always looking to totally restart every aspect of life as it is. That would be both absurd and impossible. What I mean is that I’m always open to the possibilty of change and constantly seek ways to better myself.

Change and progress are large parts of what make us human. Without our adaptability and constant rebuilding, we’d still spend 90% of our days hunting and gathering food. Not that this would be such a bad way to live, but it leaves little room for art, poetry, social commune, reflection and the study of one of the greatest pieces of technology ever offer to man: the human mind.

Change is freeing. Rearranging is cleansing. Starting again is refreshing. But too much change is chaos. Too much rearrangement is cluttering. And starting too many times over is wasteful and monotonous.

Being always ready and willing to change does not equate to being willing to take whatever the next potential change is without consideration and thought. Imagine if every potential mutation to the human body were lived out in full and never discontinued by natural selection. This same thing would happen to a mind that tried to employ every change available for and indefinite amount of time.

I am ready for change. I seek that which is higher than myself, not to look up to, but to atone with and to embrace. And I’m not afraid to take a few wrong steps to find the right path.
